G2 and questionmark have received the final two invites for DreamHack Open Leipzig, the organisers have announced. Held at the Leipzig Trade Fair from January 22-24, the DreamHack event will feature a $100,000 tournament with eight teams, hailing from Europe and South America. G2 and questionmark join Virtus.pro, Luminosity, mousesports and Na`Vi - the other four invited sides - at the event, with the remaining two spots being filled by the finalists of an online qualifier.
The former Kinguin team were last seen at an offline event at IEM San Jose, where they finished in 3rd-4th place after losing to TSM, now known as questionmark, in the semi-finals. After the North American event, where they finished runners-up to Na`Vi, the Danish team attended the FACEIT League Stage 3 Finals, the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals and the fragbite Masters Season 5 Finals, reaching the semi-finals in the first two tournaments and finished fourth at the event in Stockholm.
