ETeng has defeated their longtime rival TyLoo in the grand final of K1 League Season 2 2-1 (16-11 de_inferno, 8-16 de_nuke, 16-14 de_train) to win 150,000 RMB (~$24,000). The grand final of K1 League Season 2 was postponed by roughly a month due to the on-going presidential elections in China. TyLoo advanced to the grand final by defeating New4, while ETeng knocked out fnatic in their semi-final. The two Chinese tyrants have met in almost every domestic final this year, with TyLoo coming out ahead in almost every single one of them, and they were favorites going into this one as well.
As the teams removed de_dust2 and de_tuscan, the first map was de_inferno where ETeng had a strong 10-2 terrorist side after a weak 6-9 start as counter-terrorists, allowing them to escape with a map win. TyLoo tied the series quickly on de_nuke with a score of 16-8, starting with a 12-3 half as counter-terrorists, a half the Chinese have been very strong on since their international showings in 2010. It all came down to de_train where ETeng managed seven rounds as terrorists, just enough for them to clinch the 16-14 win and grab the K1 League Season 2 title, with a 9-6 counter-terrorist half. Although plans for next season of K1 League haven't been announced, both ETeng and TyLoo will be on show at ECL 2012 Final of the Year in Beijing on January 11-13, which will be the last tournament for TyLoo's Xuefen "xf" Lai and Bingyuan "tb" Li. |
