Renegades have booked their spot in the DreamHack ZOWIE Open Winter playoffs after defeating Gambit 16-8 in Group B's winners' match. Renegades came out of the gate looking scary, taking the opening four rounds as Gambit struggled to keep up with the pace of their opponents. The CIS team then tightened up their defense and won back-to-back rounds in convincing fashion, but Renegades quickly regained control of proceedings and increased their lead to 8-2. After calling a timeout, Gambit finally found a key to stop Renegades' pushes, winning four rounds in a row before the Australians took the final round to secure a 9-6 lead.
The Australian side got off to a great start in the second half and hit 14 rounds on the board before Gambit could muster their first of the half. The CIS side would follow that up with another round to keep their hopes alive, but Renegades were unwilling to let the map slide and quickly seal the deal. DreamHack ZOWIE Open Winter 2016Best of 1
