Virtus.pro have booked their spot in the DreamHack ZOWIE Open Bucharest grand final after seeing off dignitas 2-1 (16-4 on Mirage, 14-16 on Cobblestone and 16-13 on Overpass). There is not much to write about the first half of Mirage other than it was a complete blowout, with Virtus.pro cruising to a 12-0 lead as dignitas struggled to break through the Polish team's defensive line and often found themselves in disadvantageous situations early in the rounds. With little going in the way of dignitas, Emil "Magisk" Reif gave his team their first round of the game with a 1v2 clutch, and then he also pulled off a quad kill in the final round to help to cut the gap to nine rounds. dignitas had a great chance to get back into the game following a terrific start to the pistol round, but they were swept away by a 1v4 clutch from Filip "NEO" Kubski. Despite losing the following round, Virtus.pro quickly regained control of the game and eventually sealed a convincing 16-4 win.
Virtus.pro got off to a great start on Cobblestone, overturning a 2v5 situation in the pistol round, with Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski getting three kills to his name. The Polish team kept their momentum going and brought the scoreline to an 8-2 advantage, but dignitas tightened up their defensive during the dying stages of the half and kept the deficit to five rounds. dignitas came from the break with fire in their bellies as they won nine rounds in a row to get close to map point. Things were looking grim for Virtus.pro, but then their individual talent shone through, with Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski rescuing the team and restoring parity at 14-14. With Virtus.pro having plenty of money in the bank and the momentum swinging in their favor, many believed that they had the game in the bag, but dignitas fought back with Tec9s and followed it up with the next round to secure a hard-fought 16-14 success.
Magisk opened the game with an ace on the Terrorist side of Overpass, but Virtus.pro hit back on eco, resetting the Danes' economy. That round triggered a great run from the Polish giants, who won eight of the following nine rounds, but dignitas kept their composure and won the final four rounds of the half. Down 6-9, dignitas won the pistol round, only to lose the first anti-eco once again. Virtus.pro went on to add the next two rounds, bringing the scoreline to 12-7, but then dignitas put together a significant run of rounds and equalised the score at 13-13. Tension was palpable on stage, and Virtus.pro's experience proved key as they bagged the next two rounds, with NEO putting the match to bed with a stunning 1vs5 clutch.
