Starladder have announced that LGB eSports will replace Team SoloMid in StarSeries XIII. TSM have been forced to withdraw from the prestigious league, which will have $68,000 on offer this season - the highest figure in the history of the tournament - as the offline finals will collide with the national exams in Denmark. The CCS and FACEIT League champions will be replaced by Norwegian side LGB eSports in Group C, which also features dignitas, x6tence and GPlay.
LGB will take TSM's seed in the group, meaning that they will face x6tence in the first round of group matches. We have postponed the start of the match for Team SoloMid to 20th of May, and today, after the announcement of exams' dates, team manager Frederik Byskov contacted us and said that unfortunately the examinations scheduled for the date of the LAN-finals, namely June 19 - Friday and Monday - May 22. This means that Team SoloMid will not have time to travel to Kiev, and was replaced by another rather good Danish team - LGB Esports. We wish Team SoloMid successful completion of the exams and look forward to their participation in the next season of SLTV StarSeries, as we wish a successful season for new-comers - LGB."
StarSeries' first group stage uses a best-of-three, double-elimination bracket format, with the top two sides advancing to the second group stage, which will determine the six participants at the offline finals, which will take place from June 19-21 in Kiev. |
