The North pre-qualifier for ESL One Cologne has come to an end, with four teams progressing to the next stage. The qualifying process for ESL One Cologne officially began with the North pre-qualifier, in which teams with at least three players from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland or Iceland could participate. With NiP, dignitas and fnatic already qualified for the main event, there was not as much excitement as one would expect from a tournament of this nature, also because the competition came to an end once the last-four stage was reached.
SK Gaming, who fielded Marcus "Delpan" Larsson as a stand-in for the departed Faruk "pita" Pita, were one of the two Swedish teams to secure a place, together with tomtebloss. The other two North teams to have progressed to the semi-finals of the North pre-qualifier were Copenhagen Wolves and London Conspiracy.
